I love the basing approach. Makes me question what I am doing with water effects, heh. I also like the choice of models for the monsters. Great looking army, sir.

This is amazing! When you do a list, I'd love to see captions added to each thing (especially if you included manufactures; like for those shields for example), so we can see more clearly what's what and then totally steal all your ideas.

Awesome stuff! With the light effects, it really looks like they're on the bottom of the ocean.

Have you considered making a presentation board to display the army? I think it would really add to the underwater effect if they had a seabed around them.

I edited the earlier posts to make clear which miniatures come from which manufacturer.

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. Maybe I'll build a whole underwater gaming table and build a big scenery piece (as display board). But first I have to finish the army so that the display board is big enough

And here is a small How-to-paint the ocean floor bases. Part one (because there are only 5 pictures per post): From building to priming

            1. Build a base from cork and magnet bases. The wooden pillar comes from a building supplies store.

            2. Use Milliput (I used grey/yellow, works absolutely fine for basing) to simulate underwarter sand dunes.

            3. Add sand.

            4. Prime black.

Part two: How to paint ocean floor bases

              1. Paint the whole base in a dark blue tone. I used Vallejo Royal Blue

              2. Add lighter areas by mixing Torquoise (in this case Vallejo Turquoise) into the dark blue - then pure turquoise - then add white to the turquoise. Wet in wet is the technique of your choice. I let it dry after the pure torquoise to not get the dark blue into the turquoise/white mix.

              3. Make a dark blue / dark greenish wash and put it on some areas. I put it on sand and dune parts here and there.

              4. Paint the caustics. Looking at ocean sea pictures helps to get a feeling for it. First pure turquoise, after that with more white into it.

That's it. Hope it helps you a bit in building your own underwater TR bases

              Cheers,
              Titus

Excellent as always! I can't recall if you had said already or not, but what models did you use for your nokken?

Also, a slightly more random question, what line are your pillars and that throne from? I assume you aren't making them by hand or anything...?

                            Thanks!
The Nokken are GW Woodelf Sisters of the Thorn, the tails are modelled with Milliput (just sausages, the scales are painted).
The pillars and the throne are selfmade - the pillar is a wooden stick from a DIY/hardware store, just cut into pieces. The throne stands on a Mantic base and is built with plasticcard (the back) and Milliput. I'm not a good/experienced modeller but modelling that throne was pretty easy

                            Cheers,
